7 Simple Techniques How to Wake Up With Motivation in the Morning

Published

on

waking up in the morning

Everybody wants to be successful, but most people fail to find the motivation to go through all the hardships and to act on their goals. The problem is that most people started their day at the wrong pace.

When you start your day right, with energy and drive, you can go through your entire day with motivation. Even if things are going against you, with the right conditioning and mindset you have programmed yourself in the morning, you will have better willpower to overcome them.

This is what you are going to discover in this article. Below are the 7 simple yet powerful techniques you can apply to wake up with motivation each morning:

1. Drink a full glass of water

After a long night sleep, the first thing you need to do once you get up in the morning is to hydrate your body. Research has shown that our bodies lack water in the morning and in order for our body system to function properly, you need to hydrate it.

Thus, drink a full glass of water upon waking up. You want to hydrate your organs and other body systems to avoid feeling fatigued when you wake up. Not only that, experts have discovered that when you drink a lot of water in the morning, you are also detoxing your physical body by flushing out the leftover from yesterday.

2. Move and stretch your body

Your body is designed to move. If you want to have more energy and feel fresh during the day, you need to live an active lifestyle. And one of the best ways to do so is to exercise.

Now, you don’t have to exercise for an hour because most people don’t have the time, especially during the work week. What you can do is to spend 15 minutes to move and stretch your body.

When you exercise and move your body, you increase the blood circulation in your system. This allows more oxygen to flow through your body and mind. As a result, you feel fresh, awake, and have better motivation to tackle the day.

3. Review your goals

So you want to start your day strong and with motivation? Review your goals. Your goals are the purpose why you get up each morning. Your goals give you the direction and tell you what you need to do.

Hence, each morning before you start your day, review your goals. Think about what you want to accomplish and imagine as if you are already living your dream life. Let your goals inspire you and drive you each morning.

Most people don’t review their goals and they don’t spend time visualizing the results they want. And they wonder why they don’t have the motivation to go through each day. So don’t let this happen to you. Review your goals each morning and let your desire drives your day.

4. Plan your day

Do you plan your day? And do you know that planning can boost your motivation too? Imagine going through your day without having a clear aim of what you want to accomplish, how does that make you feel? Boring.

You have to understand where you want to go and what you want to accomplish during the day. When you plan your day and you work on to accomplish your tasks, it makes you feel extremely satisfied and fulfilled.

When you feel good, you have higher motivation and confidence. And when you have better motivation, you will want to achieve more. This is why planning is important. It can increase your drive for achievement.

5. Have something to look forward to

Most people don’t wake up with something exciting to look forward to. This is why they find it difficult to get up in the morning.

What if you have a vacation and you have planned for it for months? Do you think you will feel motivated and can’t wait for the day to come?

When you have something exciting to look forward to, you will automatically have the motivation to get up and pursue it. When you need to catch a flight for your holiday, you will never be late waking up in the morning. You can’t even sleep the night before because you are so excited about it.

Thus, have something to look forward to each day. It can be something that you love doing, like a hobby or something that you’re passionate about.

6. Get a good and healthy breakfast

Photo by Brooke Lark on Unsplash

You don’t eat when you sleep. You can’t. You are going through fasting for hours at night. Hence, get yourself a healthy and good breakfast in the morning. The word breakfast itself is referring to break-fast, which means to break the fasting.

While it is true that most people are busy in the morning. They just wake up, they need to prepare for their days, not to mention if they have children to take care of. It is easy to let the idea of getting a good breakfast fall low in your priority list, but getting something healthy to eat in the morning can make a huge difference to your energy level.

Breakfast gives your body and brains the nutrients they need after the overnight fast. Besides, your body and brain can’t run on empty fuel. So make time to get a proper breakfast each morning.

7. Pump up yourself with music

Another simple technique to motivate yourself in the morning is to pump yourself up with music. Listen to some fast-paced music or your favorite songs can change your mood entirely.

You may feel tired and sleepy in the morning, but whenever the music plays, your pace will change and you will feel the energy flowing in your almost instantly. This is why a lot of extraordinary athletes choose to listen to uplifting music when they work out. Music can pump you up.

Conclusion

These are the 7 simple techniques you can incorporate as a part of your morning routine so that you can wake up with motivation each day.

Your mornings are the most sacred time of your entire day. When you start your day right and with motivation, there are so much more you can achieve throughout the day. However, if you start your day with mediocrity, the lousy mood can affect your entire day and make you feel inferior.

Hence, start your morning right. Use the techniques shared above and wake up with motivation from tomorrow on.

7 Ways to Wake Up With Motivation

Published

on

waking up early in the morning

What you do in the morning can make or break your entire day. It is the most important part of your day because it’s a new and fresh beginning.

Sometimes you will wake up eager and ready to take on the world, but it is not always the case. We’ve all been there, in our beds, not wanting to leave. But reality hits soon enough and you realize that it is not possible to stay in bed forever. Jumps in motivation.

Of course, the feeling of motivation won’t just magically appear when you need it. Sometimes you have to act on it, trigger it, and get motivated to begin your new day. Yes, you can do it. Here are seven easy ways to wake up with motivation and enthusiasm.

Drink water

Most people don’t realize that after having slept for seven or more hours, their body will be dehydrated, making it harder for them to wake up and turn on their brain cells. That’s why the most crucial thing to do in the morning is to drink water. Make that two glasses or one massive glass of water. It can sometimes be the only thing that you need to do to wake up.

Make your daily plan the night before

Writing down my thoughts and ideas has become a lifesaver, a form of self-care and I would recommend it to anyone who wants to improve their lifestyle. Understandably, sometimes you don’t have time to write everything down and that’s perfectly fine. However, if you plan out your day the night before, the chances are higher that you will wake up with motivation and excitement. Why? Because you will have something to look forward to!

When I was a student, mornings were reserved for making daily plans. Over the years, I’ve realized that writing my tasks down in the evening helps me sleep better; therefore, I wake up more relaxed and with excitement about my plans.

Create a strong morning routine

As mentioned in the previous paragraph, if you have something to be excited about in your day, waking up motivated will come naturally. Of course, sometimes there won’t be much happening in your life or in your job. That’s why you should create routines for yourself that will make you feel more productive and happier.

A morning routine that you genuinely enjoy will make you jump out of your bed at the first sound of your alarm. You have a favorite TV show? Why don’t you make it your morning routine to watch an episode every morning while you drink your tea or coffee? You’re going to love it!

Get up immediately

When my friends tell me that they have a hard time getting up in the morning, that they rush to get to work because they overslept (again), I always know the reason. It is because of the snooze button. Of course, those extra five or ten or fifteen minutes sometimes feel like they will make a big difference and that you will be less tired throughout the day. So far from the truth! Quite the opposite, you will feel exhausted if you don’t get up as soon as the alarm starts ringing.

I’ve recently discovered Mel Robbins’ five-second rule. It is quite simple; she explains that when you have an instinct or a desire to do something, you must physically move within five seconds, or it will be too late, your brain will kill it. It is a great rule to apply in the morning if you want to get up fast and wake up motivated.

Stretch or do exercise

Stretching in the morning is guaranteed to get you in the right mood. Remember that feeling right after the gym? You feel happy and full of energy! Well, five to ten minutes of exercise in the morning can already do wonders for you. Save some time to do full stretches of arms, legs, head, etc. These small activities will increase your circulation of blood which will eventually give you more energy. After all, your body was inactive for so many hours.

Listen to music or podcasts

Music is known for putting people in a good mood, and what better way to start your day than with your favorite songs. If you remain in silence right after you get up, you will likely feel sleepy and bored. Putting on the radio to listen to music will create a fun atmosphere, already impacting your motivation and energy. Podcasts are also great for waking up to because they require you to be a bit more focused. The choice of topics is enormous so you could even try out some motivational podcasts. Listening to success stories in the morning will not only motivate you but also inspire you to be better.

Take a shower and get ready

The most effective way to wake up is to take a shower. Although showering before bed helps you sleep better and puts you in a relaxing mood, morning showers can get you going. Take your time to enjoy it. Wash your hair, brush your teeth and do a body or face scrub. Small things like these can help you feel good physically which will result in you feeling happy about yourself.

Put on a nice outfit, do your hair (and makeup) and most importantly, try to enjoy the process of getting ready. It’s your way of appreciating your body and yourself. Even if you are staying at home to work, or going to see some friends to have coffee, your good looks will make you feel more excited about your day.

Final thoughts

These seven simple, yet highly effective tips will help you take on every day with excitement. You’ll have more motivation throughout the day, more control over your life, and a higher level of productivity.

If you start getting demotivated, just remember that it is within your reach to change that situation. It is up to you! Waking up with motivation is a form of self-discipline, and despite popular belief, self-discipline is a positive thing. It is self-love above all because even though it’s not easy, it is something you have to do for your long term happiness.
